The judges were split down the middle on her look this week, so to win Kelly is going to need to find a balance and create designs that are less jarring and accessible to a broader range of tastes. Perhaps the only designer still in the competition with a clear and unique aesthetic, Kelly creates THE “love it or hate it” look every episode and her weekly scores confirm that: one win out of three high looks and two low looks for the season. The lack of support amongst our readers might suggest that she isn’t the runaway star personality of the season, but she very much is. Kelly’s current odds to win at 100/1 are deceiving. To make it to the finals and win, Merline will have to perform well in every task proving that she can be relied on to produce strong designs steadily. Such an inconsistency suggests that Merline is simultaneously capable of greatness and vulnerable to under-performance. Without a doubt the most inconsistent designer left, Merline’s placement with the judges has been all over the place - only one win among three high scores and two low scores that found her one step away from elimination twice. After starting the season with five high scores in the first six challenges (three of which were runner-up looks), Swapnil has been a low score in two of the last three weeks while also showing an increasing amount of disinterest in his work. His current odds to win remain high among our contest players at 11/2, but he continues to slide downhill in the eyes of the judges. Recent seasons suggest that four designers will make it to the finale and show collections at New York Fashion Week, but in the spirit of the series’ adherence to the “Bottom 3” looks for each episode, listed below are the three designers who have under-performed for the season and are likeliest to go home before the finals. With this week’s elimination of Laurie Underwood, “ Project Runway” is now down to the Final 6 designers. ![]()
